With Thanksgiving this week and the whole month of holiday festivities & shopping that follow (which sometimes leave us feeling stressed and cranky), I thought it would be a great time for a Gratitude refresher!
Here is my personal experience with Gratitude:
You cannot be simultaneously sad/mad/depressed/negative AND Grateful at the same time. Trust me . . . I have tried and it just doesn't work. So if you have to choose - why not let Gratitude be the winner?
My gratitude practice includes a daily mantra - "Something Amazingly Awesome is going to happen to me today!", followed by a quick writing down of 3 (or 5 or 9) things I'm grateful for. With the goal of making each day a little different so I'm clear to explore all the things I'm grateful for every day.
Things that have made my gratitude list this week:
Some days are harder than others and I find myself digging deep to be grateful for the simplest of things like having (good, unexpired) milk in my fridge & a roof over my head. For real. And even on those days when I'm riding the struggle-bus, I find myself just a wee bit cheerier by taking a look at what's good in my life.
What about you? Do you have a Gratitude practice? What's on your list this week? Leave me a comment or send me a note . . . I love hearing from you!
Love & Light & Happy Thanksgiving!
