This week I'm fulfilling my baseball mama duties at a tournament in Bend, Oregon so am coming at you with a short & sweet reminder about limiting beliefs! Which is: a) They're just thoughts & b) They're usually not true!
I got a sweet refresher course in this recently when I was telling one of my coach friends that the limiting belief that plagues me most often is:
"I'm a FRAUD."
And she sent me a text that said . . .
Every time you write that I read it as:
"I'm a FROG".
Oh my gosh that made me laugh out loud!! And you know what? It totally took the wind out of that Gremlins' sails. I mean really - now whenever I feel like telling myself "I'm a fraud!" I only hear "I'm a frog!" and it's totally funny.
I'm sharing this with you because fraud thoughts show up in all kinds of shapes & sizes & semantic variations that kind of mean the same thing. You might tell yourself:
I can't do (fill in the blank here) because . . .
"I'm not good enough"
"I don't have the right equipment"
"I didn't go to school"
"People won't believe in me"
Etc. etc. ad naseum.
It's total crap!
And just as proof . . . you may recall my recent post regarding my big FROG-GY thought about not being able to do portrait photography. Well here are some examples of how that is not, in fact true.
So I give you this silly amphibian story to help when those icky thoughts come up . . . so you can just say
"I'm Not A Frog!" Because you're not!
